how did you torch it without getting it to crack?
i tried doing that with this clay thing i did... i dont know what i did wrong but it was on the verge of shattering to a million pieces.

lovely job!
its a coil pot, so the thickness is very even, about 3/16" and the clay body is Soldate 60, famous for withstanding any kind of raku torture thrown at it

so any normal high school art room white clay would probably not work?
you could improve the chances of your clay by adding grog to it. take some bisque fired stuff, grind it up into sand-sized particles and mix it into your wet clay body, it will add some tooth to the clay and help it stay together and absorb shock.
